I don’t know about you guys, but I almost cried when summer ended. It was never my favorite season until we moved to Northern California.
But growing up elsewhere with muggy, brutally hot summers that bled into October, Fall was by far the most welcomed. The leaves burst into color; the air became lighter and easier to breathe, and the temperatures were tolerable.
But in the dryer heat of NorCal, it’s hard to welcome Fall before we feel these changes—that usually arrive with the rain in November.
With the mourning of summer, I have been surprised that I have pleasantly welcomed some of the holiday retail efforts. Usually I roll my eyes and groan, but something about the foggy mornings and the burst of red, orange, and shades of green in the stores that the trees don’t quite have yet have me excited.
And now that we have a 3.5-year old who is fully cognizant of each holiday, I was even excited today to see the new Starbucks holiday cups.

Should you use a reusable cup. YES. I forgot mine today and was pleasantly surprised by the polka-dotted cup that was awaiting me for my mobile order.
(And mobile ordering will be a whole ‘nother post for a different day.)
In the mean time, if you’re not quite ready for the holiday retail rush, by all means don’t forget your reusable mug and avert your eyes. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the pops of color as much as I did today!
